Historical 8mm Movies of the Regiment

The 8mm movies have come from the home vault of the Usher family. These old 8mm are mostly of poor quality as they have deteriorated over the years. However, you should be able to see some interesting clips of the Regiment. A few are fairly large files and will take a few minutes to download.

If you can narrow the dates and what the occasion is to some of the clips, feel free to contact Ted Usher.

Movie Clip Number One.

This clip is of the Regimental Band playing in the stadium in Queens Park. No idea what year it is or what the occasion was.

Movie Clip Number Two A.

This clip is very dark and appears to be a Drumhead Service in front of City Hall. It is followed by more of the Regimental Band in Queens Park.

Movie Clip Number Two B.

This clip could follow the ceremony from clip Two A. This is a march past of the Regiment on Royal Ave.

Movie Clip Number Three.

This clip is a short one of the Regimental Band on Remembrance Day. The second part is of a range exercise at CFB Chilliwack.

This should be in the early 1980's.

Movie Clip Number Four.

This clip is a combination of an Annual Inspection of the Regiment at City Hall. The second part of the clip is the Freedom of City of New Westminster parade that took place at City Hall in May 1963. This is a lengthy clip and will take a few minutes to download.

Movie Clip Number Five.

This is a clip of the New Westminster Police Department from the 1960s. The reason this one is included is due to the fact the Regimental Band is playing for the parade as well as many members of the police department over the years were members of the Regiment.
